Chris Old

Christopher Old is the epitome of a dedicated, warm and caring guide who truly enjoys the freedom to run rivers world wide all year long. He follows the sun and goes from South America to North America and manages to fill the fall with full seasons in Nepal. He has guided and managed a rafting operation in California for the state’s largest outfitter, and is an accomplished kayaker. Born and raised in Virginia, he graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1993.

He has guided for us on the Apurimac in Peru, the Bio Bio and Futaleufu in Chile and has run all the rivers Nepal has to offer a whitewater enthusiast. He developed and implemented an outdoor leadership skills course as a new offering to a successful summer camp program. He also has led multi-sport back country trips for Outward Bound. His Class V river skills, fluency in Spanish, salsa and swing dancing and good humor make him an excellent addition to any team, especially in South America!
