Bio Bio Expeditions is proud to announce our partnership with Wilderness Safaris – a conservation organisation dedicated to responsible tourism throughout the areas in which it operates in southern Africa. Together, our goal is to share these wild areas with guests from all over the world, while at the same time helping to ensure the future protection of Africa’s spectacular wildlife heritage and sharing the benefits of tourism with local communities.

Wilderness Safaris operates camps and safaris, privately, on 7 million acres of southern Africa’s finest wildlife reserves in Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Seychelles.  The lodging they offer is private, exotic, and unique putting you right in the heart of the African wilderness.  By day our guests participate in safaris of all different sorts:  walking, horseback, open air vehicle, even by boat.  There is something for everyone!  In the evening the night comes alive with the sounds of the African bush.

Wilderness Safaris provide highly memorable safaris that are fun and educational for those who are looking for a true African experience. Guests travel to unspoiled corners of Africa and stay in small and luxurious camps. Over the past 20 years Wilderness Safaris has become the leading safari operator in southern Africa with private reserves in Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, the Seychelles, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Together with Wilderness Safaris, Bio Bio Expeditionswill create an unforgettable safari experience for you.

The locations and the feeling of being in true, prime and remote wilderness areas means everything to Wilderness Safaris and the reserves they profile are large, exclusive and offer unbeatable experiences. Their camps are small and intimate – most have less than 10 rooms and with a no hunting policy in all the reserves, the animals are relaxed, ensuring the best possible game viewing.

Wilderness Safaris is a responsible safari company that operates on a policy of conservation through tourism that shares the benefits with local communities to ensure sustainability. They have been operating in southern Africa since the early 1980s and they are the largest safari company in the region. They have countless properties throughout Southern Africa – from Chobe and the Okavango Delta in Botswana, to Sossusvlei and the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, to the Kruger Park and Kwazulu Natal in South Africa, Kafue Park in Zambia and Victoria Falls – it’s all here!

We at Bio Bio Expeditions are Wilderness Safari experts, and will gladly assist you in building an itinerary that best suits your requirements and budget. We encourage you to have a look at the individual properties and tours. Contact us to plan your tailor-made trip!

  1. Dear Marc,
You REALLY did it THIS time! Wow!…and thank you SOOO much from the EXTREMELY happy newlyweds, John and Katja Ober. From the moment we got off the plane, and continuing still now as my lovely bride enjoys a well-earned nap after white water rafting, this trip has exceeded all our dreams. I’ve enjoyed your work on the BioBio Trips to Kilimanjaro, Fiji, Futaleufu, et alia, but this custom-build wonder is a masterpiece! Every detail, every consideration…well worth every penny.

Special congratulations on sending us to Hwange Camp…by far our favorite…the best guides, the best food, the best quiet, homespun considerate attention and education. If we could live there, we would do it. It will be our choice for anniversaries when we can. Julian and Spike and Washington there impressed as the best guides we have known.

Imbabala camp, as well, I’d truly lovely, and we’d love to again see that park one day. Difficult to remember all the guides’ names, but all so responsive to our interests.

If one day one of our children needs a honeymoon, I know who to call; I’m sure you know the right people everywhere.

    With great respect and gratitude,
John Ober, Husband and DVM (you see which comes first)

  2. The Africa trip was wonderful. Each of the accommodations was beautiful, interesting and unique. The staff at Tongabezi made it a warm and personal experience. The food was excellent. All details for excursions, connections and border crossings ran virtually seamless. I was very impressed by that. Certainly not an easy task to pull off given the number of activities and transfers that were arranged for us. Thank you deeply for whatever hand you had in all of this. I’m sure that is what accounted for such a personal touch.
