5 star ratingRafting extravaganza! The place is like summer camp for adults! But with alcohol and no early wake-up calls. The food and service were amazing! The place is one of the most spectacular places I've ever seen and the staff was very top rate. The rafting was very professional and very exciting . I can't believe they can get a bunch of beginner rafters into that level of white water and rafting! We had a fantastic time and the only thing I wished we'd done differently was to stay in Patagonia longer and do some more hiking and exploring.

5 star ratingBest week ever! An absolute MUST DO!! This trip exceeded expectations in absolutely every single way! TLDR - If you are contemplating booking this trip, DO IT NOW. -Organization: Biobio and staff are incredibly organized. Every detail in your travel to Northern Patagonia is carefully thought of and they made the trip to Patagonia simple and stress free!-Lodging: Excellent!! Beautiful tents right on the river with a queen sized mattress and everything you could need to be comfortable. Bathroom facilities are shared, but clean and always tended to! There is HOT showers which are perfectly refreshing after a day on the river. There is a sauna, two jacuzzis, bar and off course the rope swing which is a fun way to end the day! -Food: Lets be honest, food can make or break an experience and every single meal here is top notch. The kitchen staff is amazing. Every morning you are greeted with fresh coffee, homemade yogurt, granola, usually an egg dish, with homemade, still warm, fresh bread. Lunch is usually riverside and was always delicious. Dinner is next level incredible. Every single meal was an absolute delight. Fresh as can be, full of South American flavors and overwhelmingly delicious with wine every night. - The Futa: I have been dreaming of her since we returned home. What an indescribable, beautiful place. This river is majestic and it was a gift to explore her. Ever if you are not a white water enthusiast, you will be sure to absolutely love every second on the water if you are an adventure enthusiast. The rapids, the views, the team, all incredible. This is some big white water, but never once did I feel unsafe. They have more safety kayaks and catarafts than they do rafts with guests. Any time there was a flip or a spill, safety was there immediately! -The STAFF: Lorenzo, Terri, Stan, Diego, Derek, Skye, Whitney, Elena, Loren, Joe, Tilo - and so many more were just the BEST. You can feel everyone's love for the river, the place and their job. Everyone was so kind, so fun and just a joy to be around. They are incredibly skilled and talented individuals who make this trip what it is. Thank you to everyone on the Futa and at BioBio for your warm welcome and for sharing your love of Patagonia and white water with us. We can't wait to go back and see you again soon! Hopefully we will meet on the Zambezi!

5 star ratingBest Week Ever The best word I can think of to describe our time at Bio Bio Patagonia: MAGIC! I just couldn’t have possibly imagined the incredible week we had. *The Camp: An absolute dream location with mesmerizing scenery, charming rustic structures, and an immediate sense of home away from home. The food was mouth watering, and the tent cabins were perfect retreats. *The People: I cried when we left these people. Not only are they incredibly talented guides with great passion for the river, but they are just wonderful people all the way around. As soon as you meet arrive at camp, they invite you into their Bio Bio family and by the time you leave you’ll feel as though you’ve known them forever. *The Rafting: I was kind of “along for the ride” for this trip since a family member organized our group of 13, so while I perused the site and read all the “what to bring” type stuff, I didn’t dive very deep into what I’d be doing day in and day out and I didn’t read anything about the rafting in the area. So let me tell you there is no prior influence when I say “Holy heck that was a kick a** experience!” I had no clue the Fú is considered world class rafting or that we’d be doing Class V rapids. I had very little experience rafting, but always felt very prepared by our raft guide and the entire safety team surrounding us. The Futaleufú is absolutely majestic and the mountains rising up around you are unreal. Thank you Bio Bio for the BEST WEEK EVER!!!

5 star ratingA must for whitewater enthusiasts First, the river itself is fantastic. Beautiful, clear blue. Never quite seen anything like it. From fun and splashy to fierce Class v rapids. Second, world class guides - here’s to Garrett, Whitney, and Stan. Third, meticulous attention to safety. I’m guessing the number of safety kayaks and catarafts outnumbered the guests. Fourth, the setting. Simply spectacular, not just northern Patagonia but where the camp is located - right along the banks of the Futaleufú. But it was the people - the guides, the staff, the wonderful Terri, Marc, and Lorenzo, and the other guests - that set this trip apart. If you can swing it - do it. I promise you won’t regret it.

5 star ratingEntire stay with BioBio was a highlight. The rafting was over the top, the grounds were shangri-la, the guides fun & pr Cool safari tents on a roofed platform with fantastic views of the river. The food was fresh, variable, and plentyful. Wine at the table, a small brewery on site for cool craft beer after an exciting day of paddling class IV and V rapids. Many other interesting activities available as well.

5 star ratingFlawless trip in paradise on Earth My partner and I went on a week-long multipart trip here, mostly rafting, with some inflatable kayaking and horse riding too. It was utterly wonderful. The guides, the hosts, the food, the activities, the accommodation, the environment: perfect. The staff (and the other guests) really made this trip. The rafting is very intense and exciting in places: just what we wanted!

Trip Reviews From Our Guests

Futaleufu River

“Gorgeous location with a little bit of everything. You do not need to be a rafting expert–the guides will teach and help you with everything you want to know. The water is crystal clear and the rapids are phenomenally fun! There is horseback riding, options to run, mountain bike, chillax in the camp, soak in the hot tub, warm up in the sauna, and enjoy pisco sours, beers brewed at camp, and Chilean wines! The food is phenomenal. But what makes this trip most special are the people there–the guides and staff–that welcome you as part of the BioBio and Futaleufu family!”

“This organization is amazing! The staff are very accommodating. I did this trip by myself and it was my first white water rafting trip! I felt safe and taken care of. The food was amazing and the trip was unforgettable. It was the perfect balance of relaxation, exercise, and exhilaration.”

“Our family (2 adults and 3 boys aged 15 to 20) had a fabulous trip with Bio Bio. The luxury camp is right on the Fu river, lots to do and we were very well taken care of. The river guides are low key, affable and totally competent. Everyone in our family loved it and we were able to do things together as a family or in sub-groups if preferred. Food was well beyond what one might expect at a camp.
The Fu was in huge flood when we were there so we mainly rafted the tributaries which were also high and a ton of fun.”

Amazing beauty – the people, the place – that feeds the soul

“Bio Bio is a labor of love. Marc and Lorenzo have created the space that they want to share with their friends and family. And once you arrive, you are part of the family. Everyone that is here, wants to be here. The camp is spectacular and comfortable – rain or shine. The food is outstanding. Where else do you get coffee brought to your tent every morning. Old and young come here and leave with a renewed sense of adventure and love for the world. It goes without saying that the rivers are amazing no matter how you travel down them. And you are supported by a team of expert guides who want you to have fun, but be safe.”

“Words can not express the amazing trip we had! One week of safari (starting in Arusha) followed by a week of Kili climb was a trip of a lifetime for me. The parks we visited on the safari were spectacular, including Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. The lodges we stayed at were first class with great views and terrific food (Kilimanjaro Beer was good too!). Bio Bio guides were extremely knowledgeable and fun (go Team Cheetah – Simbo Jeep). The Kili climb, headed by Festo (an amazing leader and person), was such an incredible experience. Parts of it were tough (we had a lot of rain and summit night is no picnic!) but it was one of the most amazing and rewarding adventures of my life, made possible by the group of people we were with and the Bio Bio team who made it so special. I always felt that we were in good hands and that the Bio Bio team knew exactly what they were doing at all times. Particularly on summit night. I would not have made it to the top without the support of all of the guides (thanks especially to Modest). Bio Bio was top notch every step of the way, with Stan taking care of things in the background, making sure everything went smoothly. We did not have to worry about anything other than making sure we were ready to go on time! I highly recommend Bio Bio and look forward to my next adventure with them!”

“Upon arrival at the airport the friendly staff transferred us to the beautiful Serena Arusha Lodge. Check-in and check-out was easy and efficient. We enjoyed wildlife viewing, including up-close walking safari at nearby Arusha National Park. Climbing Kilimanjaro, the highest peak on the continent, is a reasonable goal for an active person. My husband (68) and myself (59) have hiked the Appalachian Trial which is harder. The high altitude is difficult so listen to the guides, they are excellent. Bio Bio Expeditions takes care of everything. Kili was beautiful, an otherworldly landscape. The safaris included the best parks of East Africa, Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater, with high-end safari lodges, exotic and everyday foods, and great guides in uncrowded land rovers. We saw the Big Five and thousands more abundant wildlife. Truly a bird-lovers paradise. The guides were kind, thoughtful, friendly and knowledgeable. Bio Bio is the BEST!!!”
