Wilderness Medicine Conference for Emergency Medicine 10 Stars plus. An absolutely fabulous conference with multiple lectures pertaining to wilderness medicine given by Matthew DeClerck ER Wildernesses Med Specialist. Some lectures in conference rooms- some in a bus enroute to our 8 or 9 mile hiking start destinations. The conference was in Bhutan. A beautiful country known for its Happiness and its simplicity of life. Not many luxuries in Bhutan but i met many new friends and a good time was had by all. Our drivers and Tour Guides were amazing. They knew everything about the history and culture and we visited many monasteries On the mountain and each one has its own character and is lovely- even if you are not Buddhist, you will find the entire religion warm and calming and fascinating. Visit Bhutan before the opportunity slips by you. You do need a special Visa and a guide as far as I know to visit the country. If can go on any Bio Bio Trip it will be worth you while. The food was great, accommodations were upscale for the area, and the guides went out of their way to accommodate each and every person no matter what eccentric quirks they had . They were very sweet. I give them top dog grades and hope to plan my next year trip with 😊 I love trekking. The Tiger’s Nest was the Ultimate!

I've seen many spectacular places on this planet, but rafting on the Futa with this crew was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The guides, the support staff, the food, the views, the vibes, the EVERYTHING exceeded my expectations by miles. And the Futa....well words can't quite meet her might and grace. She is a rowdy river but she will grant you the ride of a lifetime if you're humble enough not to forget who is boss.

Best week ever! An absolute MUST DO!! This trip exceeded expectations in absolutely every single way! TLDR - If you are contemplating booking this trip, DO IT NOW. -Organization: Biobio and staff are incredibly organized. Every detail in your travel to Northern Patagonia is carefully thought of and they made the trip to Patagonia simple and stress free!-Lodging: Excellent!! Beautiful tents right on the river with a queen sized mattress and everything you could need to be comfortable. Bathroom facilities are shared, but clean and always tended to! There is HOT showers which are perfectly refreshing after a day on the river. There is a sauna, two jacuzzis, bar and off course the rope swing which is a fun way to end the day! -Food: Lets be honest, food can make or break an experience and every single meal here is top notch. The kitchen staff is amazing. Every morning you are greeted with fresh coffee, homemade yogurt, granola, usually an egg dish, with homemade, still warm, fresh bread. Lunch is usually riverside and was always delicious. Dinner is next level incredible. Every single meal was an absolute delight. Fresh as can be, full of South American flavors and overwhelmingly delicious with wine every night. - The Futa: I have been dreaming of her since we returned home. What an indescribable, beautiful place. This river is majestic and it was a gift to explore her. Ever if you are not a white water enthusiast, you will be sure to absolutely love every second on the water if you are an adventure enthusiast. The rapids, the views, the team, all incredible. This is some big white water, but never once did I feel unsafe. They have more safety kayaks and catarafts than they do rafts with guests. Any time there was a flip or a spill, safety was there immediately! -The STAFF: Lorenzo, Terri, Stan, Diego, Derek, Skye, Whitney, Elena, Loren, Joe, Tilo - and so many more were just the BEST. You can feel everyone's love for the river, the place and their job. Everyone was so kind, so fun and just a joy to be around. They are incredibly skilled and talented individuals who make this trip what it is. Thank you to everyone on the Futa and at BioBio for your warm welcome and for sharing your love of Patagonia and white water with us. We can't wait to go back and see you again soon! Hopefully we will meet on the Zambezi!

Beyond Expectations! An absolutely incredible trip!! It completely surpassed our very high expectations. The Patagonia landscape is absolutely beautiful, rafting on the Futaleufu is the best in the world and the Bio Bio Camp is out of a dream. Lorenzo and his wife, Terri, were phenomenal hosts. They and all of the guides and staff were warm, welcoming and a complete wealth of knowledge on the region and rafting. The accommodations are perfect for enjoying nature. You are protected from the elements with comfortable beds and privacy, while also having the wonderful experience of effectively being outside the entire trip. One note, the bathrooms and showers are shared. They are clean and close to the platforms, but worth noting for packing. Headlamp/flash light is a must for getting around camp after dark, but remember the sun doesn't go down until about 10 pm, its summer in the southern hemisphere!Most days start with yoga, then breakfast. Time on the water, sometimes lunch at camp or out on the go. Then opportunities for more time on the water or hiking or relaxing - hot tub, sauna, a massage. "The hot tub is hot and the beers are cold!" We found spending time at camp in the afternoons very relaxing. Themed dinners, fantastic dessert every night! Maybe a campfire or another drink before tucking in for bed. The Futaleufu River Bio Bio trip is an adventure in paradise. If you are considering this vacation, book it now. We cannot recommend it enough!We hope to go back someday!
