With so many different Costa Rica vacation options and tour companies, why choose Bio Bio Expeditions?  Well, Bio Bio Expeditions has a long history in Costa Rica, in fact, we go way back….In the early 90’s, Marc Goddard and Laurence Alvarez-Roos, Bio Bio Expeditions’ co-founders and owners, lived and worked in Costa Rica as rafting guides. Both competed in the Project R.A.F.T. World Championships of Rafting held in Costa Rica in 1991.  Their team, Team California, took home first place and also helped draw attention to the threat of hydroelectric projects on Costa Rica’s precious rivers.  Since that time Costa Rica has held a special place in our hearts and we are thrilled to offer you a truly unique, authentic adventure in this tropical paradise.

Our Costa Rica adventure travel vacations were created with the input of one of our international head guides, Jorge Esquivel, a Costa Rica native and the former Costa Rica National Freestyle Kayak Champion.  Jorge has explored every corner of his beloved country and helped create our itinerary, which will take you off the beaten path.  On our Costa Rica: Jungles, Rivers and Beaches Adventure we will raft the Savegre and Pacuare Rivers, visit four National Parks including the iconic Tortuguero National Park, sea kayak hidden Costa Rican lagoons, and relax on white and black sand beaches.  We stay in luxury tented camps, beautiful lodges, and experience Costa Rican warmth in a way most tourists in Costa Rica never will.  We have also ensured that all of the lodgings and outdoor activities on our trip are sanctioned to meet the current sustainable travel and environmental conservation guidelines of Costa Rica’s Eco-Tourism Board.  We invite you to join us in Costa Rica for a tropical dream adventure vacation!
