Hiking Tour of the Dolomites with IVS
The Dolomites are pure alpine drama. Towering limestone spires, wild ridgelines, lush valleys, combined with a culture that blends Italian soul with Tyrolean mountain grit. Formed from ancient coral reefs and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this range is a playground for hiking, trekking, and world-class climbing.
Days are spent exploring jaw-dropping trails and high alpine scenery. Evenings are all about comfort and connection in cozy mountain inns, great food, local wines, and time to unwind. Each evening, enjoy engaging IVS lectures provided by International Veterinary Seminars.
Along the way, 12 RACE approved CE hours will be presented by Dr. Stan Marks from U.C. Davis.

Itinerary
What to expect
Day 1: Welcome to the Dolomites
Touch down in Venice in time for your 2pm scenic group transfer into the heart of the mountains to Cortina d’Ampezzo. Settle into your hotel, meet your guides, and kick things off with a welcome briefing and dinner.
Days 2–3: Iconic Peaks, Alpine Classics
Your first hikes set the tone with stunning variety from Tre Croci Pass to Monte Faloria, you climb through forests, ridgelines, and alpine meadows. The next day brings a true Dolomites icon, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, where you’ll see towering rock spires, WWI relics, and nearly 10,000-foot views.
Days 4–5: Towers, Tunnels & Real-World Scenarios
Today brings you to Cinque Torri, dramatic rock formations and historic WWI tunnels. The following day’s traverse across Puez–Odle Natural Park brings big alpine scenery.
Days 6–7: Big Peaks & Big Learning
Circumnavigating the Sassolungo–Sassopiato massif and summiting Piz Boé (3,152 m) delivers classic Dolomite drama. Gondolas help with the logistics; don’t worry, your legs will still get a great workout.
Day 8: Marmolada Views & Wrap-Up Sessions
You finish strong on the legendary Viel del Pan, a balcony trail with nonstop views of Marmolada. This final day brings together the week’s knowledge, practical and engaging, before settling in for a celebratory final evening in Alleghe.
Day 9: Arrivederci, Dolomites
After and early breakfast, you take the group transfer back to Venice Airport for your flight departing after 12pm, leaving with stronger legs, sharper skills, and a wealth of knowledge gained in one of the world’s most inspiring mountain classrooms.
