EBC CME 2022:
-It is hands down the best CME course I’ve ever taken and you don’t even need to be a medical professional to enjoy this trip!
Alina Wong:
Just returned from the EBC Wilderness Medicine trip and highly recommend this trip. It was an experience of a lifetime, challenging both physically and mentally, but the beauty of Nepal and its people will make you forget any struggles getting up some of the hills. Our group bonded quickly despite our 37 year age range which made this trip an even better experience for me as a single traveler. Our lead guide Santiago was amazing and very skilled at bringing us all together and handling some of the little glitches that always occur along the way. Jhiban and our Nepali guides and porters were also amazing and seemed to have unlimited patience. Most of us took Diamox for the altitude which seemed to help, even at a low dose. Thorough water treatment is also very important. Come to this trip ready to open up to new experiences and prepare physically so you can enjoy this incredible place!
This amazing trek to Mount Everest Base Camp was exhausting, exhilarating, and inspiring. I had 2 months to prepare, spontaneous decision but yet up to par with Santa Barbara hiking and fitness. Many members had this on their bucket list for decades of things they must do. As the oldest one on our team, I was loved and loved back. Our team camaraderie was quite special. We pulled each other through all the hard times. Everyone had unique personalities and unique contributions, including our team guide Santiago, our Nepalese team and our team instructors. This trek reached deep inside to inspire me to continue to push and find what else this world has to offer.
Just completed the Bio Bio Wilderness Medicine trip to Everest Base Camp for 2022! It was an amazing journey and our Bio Bio guide Santiago was fantastic with planning and encouragement the whole way! Every day’s itinerary was well planned and flexible for various hiking speeds and altitude gain of 20 people.
Just finished the trip (April 2022). What an incredible opportunity! Highly recommended. The weather was excellent on the way up, including spectacular views wherever you look! The guide (Santiago) was awesome, providing professional and memorable experiences along the way. The educators (Brian and ERA) where excellent as well. This trip is intense, demanding physical and mental endurance. But it is a trip of a lifetime. Kathmandu is heavily populated, requiring constant attention to where you go. The people in the mountains are friendly and giving. Beauty is all around on the trek. Everywhere you look you will find something to appreciate. Pictures do not give it justice. Altogether it was an amazing experience. We all made it to basecamp unlike other groups on the trail. I am glad we went on the early trek as the trail started getting very busy on our way down. Highly recommended!
We just finished the trip (April 2022). It was the hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve done. This is our second trip with Bio Bio (Kili 2012) and the service and overall experience were top notch. I can’t thank Santiago Ibanez, our guide, enough. Without him and our lovely Nepalese guides I never would have made it!
I was on the trip back in 2010. All I can say if was the best adventure I have been on or will be on. Awesome scenery, eye opening experiences. Kathmandu was amazing. I felt very secure in the people guiding us. I will all ways remember this trip. Follow what to take with you and you will be fine!. All in our group made it to the Base camp and back.
I did this trip in 2012. This is a life-changing trek. I cannot t recommend it highly enough. It is tough, but the beauty of the land and the people is unparalleled. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
