This immersive cycling journey, with International Veterinary Seminars, through Tuscany blends iconic landscapes, historic hill towns, and exceptional local cuisine into one unforgettable experience. Beginning in San Gimignano, you’ll ride through rolling hills, olive groves, and vineyards to explore ancient gems like Volterra before continuing on to the medieval splendor of Siena. From there, pedal through the heart of the Chianti region, known for its wine and postcard-perfect scenery.
As the journey continues into the breathtaking Val d’Orcia, you’ll cycle past cypress-lined roads and golden landscapes, visiting renowned towns such as Montalcino and Montepulciano. The trip concludes in the Renaissance jewel of Pienza. With thoughtfully selected accommodations, scenic daily rides, and a perfect balance of activity and cultural discovery, this itinerary showcases the very best of Tuscany by bike perfectly paired with CE for veterinarians!

What to expect
Days 1–2: San Gimignano & Volterra — A Tuscan Welcome
Your journey begins in the enchanting hill town of San Gimignano, where you’ll settle into the serene surroundings of Hotel La Collegiata for a two-night stay. After arrival, unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel. The following day, set out on a spectacular 60 km loop ride through quintessential Tuscan landscapes of rolling hills, olive groves, and golden wheat fields en route to Volterra. This ancient Etruscan town, perched dramatically above the countryside, invites exploration of its atmospheric streets shaped by over three millennia of history. Return to San Gimignano along scenic back roads, with sweeping countryside views at every turn, and cap off the day with another included dinner.
Days 3–4: Siena & the Chianti Hills — Medieval Beauty and Wine Country
Leaving behind the iconic towers of San Gimignano, enjoy a rewarding 49 km ride toward the magnificent city of Siena. Along the way, pass through charming villages including Colle Val d’Elsa, Abbadia Isola, and the perfectly preserved medieval gem of Monteriggioni, before riding through the wooded hills of the Montagnola Senese. Settle into Hotel Athena for a two-night stay. The next day, immerse yourself in the heart of Chianti on a classic 55 km loop ride through vineyards, olive groves, and postcard-perfect villages such as Castelnuovo Berardenga, Gaiole, and Radda in Chianti. Highlights include the historic Castello di Brolio and scenic stretches along the famed Chiantigiana road.
Days 5–6: Val d’Orcia & Renaissance Hill Towns — Tuscany at Its Most Iconic
After time to soak in the beauty of Siena, continue your journey with a stunning 65 km ride into the UNESCO-listed landscapes of Val d’Orcia. Pedal through rolling hills and cypress-lined roads, passing through the renowned wine town of Montalcino before arriving in the charming village of San Quirico d’Orcia, where you’ll stay at Palazzo del Capitano Wellness & Relais. On Day 6, enjoy a shorter yet equally scenic 40 km ride through one of Italy’s most photographed landscapes, visiting Montepulciano before reaching the Renaissance jewel of Pienza. Your stay at Relais Il Chiostro di Pienza is complemented by a memorable included dinner.
Day 7: Departure from Pienza — Farewell Tuscany
After breakfast in Pienza, your unforgettable journey through Tuscany’s most iconic landscapes and hill towns comes to a close, leaving you with lasting memories of cycling, culture, and cuisine.
