Masulya Zakayo. (Busta)

My name is Masulya Zakayo, though most people know me as Busta. I’m a 47 year old Tanzanian with over 20 years of experience in tourism especially climbing on Mount Kilimanjaro.

I began my journey on the mountain as a porter, carrying equipment and supporting climbers just to know routes and other challenges. Driven by passion and determination, I later trained and qualified as a professional guide, and for the past 17 years I’ve been working as a Kilimanjaro guide. Over the years, I’ve summited the mountain more than 200 times, gaining deep knowledge of its routes, conditions, and challenges.

Throughout my career, I have also completed several medical training courses focused on high altitude safety. This has equipped me with the skills to properly care for and support climbers, ensuring their safety and success on the mountain.

Bio Bio Expeditions has been very meaningful to my life. Through their support, I was able to return to school, gain professional training, and grow into a certified guide. Since then, I have been working with Bio Bio Expeditions rating as the best company I have ever worked with on Mount Kilimanjaro!

Guiding on Kilimanjaro is not just my job, it’s my passion. Because every trip I do is different from others. I take pride in helping people achieve one of the most memorable experiences of their lives. That is why I love my job.
