Cotahausi rafting adventure of a lifetime!

Book now for May 2022!

A Bio Bio Expeditions rafting adventure on the amazing Cotahuasi River offers six days of among the most classic, continuous, technical, and incredibly fun whitewater – through the deepest canyon on earth!

Add the amazing Arequipa, a memorable hike on an ancient Inca footpath, with Inca ruins and artifacts, and you’ll enjoy adventure travel in South America unlike any other!

Bio Bio made the very first commercial descent of the Cotahuasi River 20 years ago, in 2021. It was featured in Outside Magazine in December that same year. And while, the whitewater is certainly reason enough to book this trip, the historic cultural experience is a wonderful bonus!  The hike to put-in is on an ancient Inca footpath – a veritable journey back in time where you can view the abundant Inca and pre-Inca ruins and artifacts strewn through the canyon. In fact, we hosted the first archaeologist ever into the canyon. He provided us with a ton of information and guidance on how to see and enjoy, while protecting and conserving, these ancient treasures.
